For more than two years, La Serena Golf has been selecting and testing varieties of grass for the renovation and improvement of all their greens.
In 2020, a Bermuda Ultra-Dwarf was selected because of it’s harmony within a warm climate. It consumes, on average, 30% less water than the current variety. It has a very high tolerance to salinity, weeds and different diseases, which means that the use of phytosanitary products is considerably reduced. All this while maintaining excellent playing qualities.
The remodelling will allow us to improve our biodiversity by helping to maintain natural habitats and considerably increase the quality of the golf course and therefore improving the player’s experience.
